Dr Les Carr from ECS is a fellow of the Web Science Research initiative and co-director of the Web Science Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Southampton. He will be talking about how we can best populate Wikipedia with University-related Ā content in order to improve the institutionās search engine ranking and hence its online visibility generally. Currently Ā we are the 18th most cited UK university on Wikipedia, so we could do better in encouraging people to reference our work in the world’s online encyclopaedia.
2. Large data sets and modern mathematics
